FEARLESS IN SCOTLAND

LYNDSAY MCDADE

Fearless Manager, Scotland

Fearless is the youth service of independent charity Crimestoppers.  The animation below provides an overview of what Fearless is, and how it maintains anonymity for those who contact the service.

Young people are encouraged to speak up with information about crime 100% anonymously at Fearless.org or by calling the charity on 0800 555 111.

We want to share what we do with as wide an audience as possible, so that eventually all young people in Scotland will know that they have an option to speak up without fear of stigma or reprisal. But we can only do that with your help.

Working with young people and professionals, we have developed a range of resources, including a guide to Fearless and a toolkit with activities to help education and youth work practitioners to have positive conversations with young people about reporting crime, challenging the negative ‘grass culture’ that’s often prevalent.

You can download these resources and learn more about our campaigns Fearless in Scotland website.

Fearless attended the partnership event “Let’s get Reconnected” event in November 2023, alongside many other organisations working across justice and universal services.  This enabled the organisations to find out about others working in the city and strengthen ties and connections, to the benefit of those they work with.  You can find out more about the Community Justice Glasgow partnership work to connect services with each other in the article ‘Spotlighting Good Work Across the City’.
